Objective: Reach Hwadrim the Spider and kill her

You find Hwadrim the Spider in the locked underground chamber. She's got roughly 80 k morale.

The trickiest part is actually getting to the spider. The room is completely cluttered with adds and anything you kill will respawn in 2 minutes. You have to constantly be on the move, sometimes taking on more spiders than you can handle safely. If you don't, you'll just be stuck somewhere and never make it to the boss.

  • Spider Tenders - 7.5 k
  • Roaming Guards - 40 k

Before you enter make sure to note the patrols that the 40k's are making.

Mark the patrols to easier see where they are!

A bad pull on a guard will aggro everything in the area. This often results in a wipe.

The guards can be distracted by a minstrel!

The safe way to the boss is sticking to the wall. Move between the holes and stay close together. You will have a hard time to see where you are and what's happening. Hopefully you have someone with you who knows where the best hideouts are.

From the entrance. Move as one unit through the first pack of spiders to the right. Drag them to the corner behind the webs. Make sure to AoE any fungal egg sack that spawns. They give damage to everyone nearby.

Mark the two guardians on the right side before you pull them to the first hole. Once the first pack of tenders are dead you move. No time to rest! Move to the next group on the right.

If you stay too long in one place the adds will respawn and you have to kill them again!

Run to a hideout, fight, run to the next, and so on. You will probably not leave combat at all until you find a hole to hide in. Continue like this all the way around the back right side of the chamber.

Eventually you will come to a large alcove filled with bones and debris. It's the third spider pack along the right wall once you have made it past the archway guards. You will fight the boss here.

If you have any guard with you just let it be. First kill the pack of tender spider and then bring the guard down to 3-5 k morale. Now let your tank aggro the boss. Once she's activated kill the guard.

The Bossfight

The tank is going to fight the boss right in front of the alcove, in range of ranged dps and the healer. Any adds that spawns has to be drawn to the alcove and killed.

Hwadrim will lay down an AoE acid cloud that will kill quickly. Make sure that cloud doesn't end up in your comfy little hole. If she lays a cloud your tank moves away as fast as possible.

During phase one Hwadrim occasionally makes a knockback sending you across the room if you don't have your back to the wall. This might very well result in you pulling additional adds, so be careful. Once Hwadrim is down to around 60 % morale she'll run back to the middle and start phase two. Just stay where you are. She'll be back soon.

In the second phase Hwadrim starts dropping her acid pools and keeps doing the knockbacks. The tank maneuvers around, avoiding the acid clouds, while the does his best to stay within healing range. Tell the tank to get closer to the alcove, if possible, instead of running around too much on your own. Now and then the boss also summons adds that will heal her. Aggro them immediately and pull them away from her. Once down to 27 k morale phase three begins.

As soon as Hwadrim comes back for the third phase she summons a pack of spider tenders and one guard. Get the aggro and drag them away. Let a hunter be in strength stance if you like. Kill everything as fast as you possibly can do it. During this phase Hwadrim is somewhat angry and drops the acid pools every 15 seconds or so. Take her down slow and steady.
